The opening Moderato section starts the journey with careful attention paid to dynamic variations and rhythmic consistency in the percussion section. This is followed by a contrasting Andante section, played in a legato style, where students can show off their expressive playing skills. The piece returns to the Moderato section before coming to a dramatic conclusion.
