Mad Anthony (March)

Mad Anthony (March) Andrew Balent

This work was inspired by the life and legacy of Major-General "Mad" Anthony Wayne. Born on January 1, 1745, he was an accomplished military officer and statesman. Wayne began his career at the onset of the American Revolutionary War, where he fought in many major battles (such as the Battles of Stony Point and Bull's Ferry), and whose fearlessness on the battlefield and fiery personality earned him the nickname Mad Anthony. Wayne also served during the Northwest Indian War, more specifically, at the Battle of Fallen Timbers and the Siege of Fort Recovery. General Wayne died on December 15, 1796 (51 years old), and his memorial stands in Freimann Square, Fort Wayne, Indiana (the city which was named in honor of him).
