Met 'Lament of Peace creëert Andreas Ziegelbäck een indringende muzikale reflectie op de kwetsbaarheid van vrede. Geïnspireerd door De klacht van de vrede van Erasmus van Rotterdam bestaat het werk uit vijf delen:
1. De stem van de vrede Een fragiele harmonie draagt een nauwelijks hoorbare melodie.
2. De schaduw van de oorlog Zware harmonieën en ritmes tonen angst en vernietiging.
3. Het licht van hoop Een zachte melodie van althobo en hobo brengt hoop.
4. Gebroken hoop De vredesstem verdwijnt opnieuw in de klanken van oorlog.
5. De zoektocht naar verzoening Het werk eindigt met een oproep tot vrede en vergeving.
Het contrast tussen zachte en krachtige passages maakt de spanning hoorbaar.?Het werk is opgedragen aan alle slachtoffers van oorlog.
