The Passacaglia is a composition on a recurring bass line with ever-new variations in the melody voices. Falconiero's 'Passacaglia from Il Primo Libro' was original written for three instruments and basso continuo. Egbert of Groningen arranged this passacaglia for two trombones and a small wind ensemble.
