Great News for Fanfare BandIn a special agreement with the copyright holders, the Molenaar Edition has released a transcription for Fanfare bandEL CAMINO REAL (a Latin Phantasy)By the world Number One Band ComposerALFRED REEDThe Fanfare band can be found in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and the North of France.The instrumentation consists a section of flugelhorns (1x Eb, 4x solo 4x 1st, 4x 2nd, 4x 3rd) and full section of saxophones (2x sopr, 2x alto, 2x tenor, 1 x bar) instead of woodwinds, the brasses are the same as in the concert band.El Camino Real (The Royal Road) was composed by Alfred Reed in 1985 on commission from the 581st Air Force Band in the U.S.A.The music is based on chord schemes, that for generations have been used by Spanish Flamenco on guitarists.These schemes, we have come to consider as typically Spanish folk melodies they accompany, they make up a combination most people consider to be authentically Spanish music.The first movement is based on the dance, known as 'Jota'.The second, contrasting movement is based on the 'Fandango'.The composition is constructed according to the classical pattern: fast slow fast.The brilliant score is full of changes in metre, typically Spanish rhythms and contrasts of sound colour. Une bonne nouvelle pour les orchestres de fanfare.Grâce à un accord spécial avec les propriétaires des droits d'auteurs, les Editions Molenaar ont édité une version pour orchestre de fanfare de EL CAMINO REAL, la fantaisie latino-américaine du plus grand compositeur contemporain pour orchestre d'harmonie ALFRED REED. On trouve des orchestres de fanfare aux Pays-Bas, en Belgique, en France et au Luxembourg. L'arrangement est orchestré pour un groupe complet de bugles (flugelhorns) (1 petit bugle en mi bémol, 4 bugles solos, 4 premiers bugles, 4 deuxièmes bugles, 4 troisièmes bugles) et un groupe complet de saxophones (2 sopranos, 2 altos, 2 ténors, 1 baryton) qui remplacent les bois, tandis que les autres cuivres sont les mêmes que ceux utilisés dans l'orchestre d'harmonie.El Camino Real (Le Chemin Royal) a été composé en 1985 par Alfred Reed suite à une commande du 581ème Air Force Band aux Etats-Unis d'Amérique. La musique est basée sur des schémas d'accords qui ont été utilisés par d'innombrables générations de guitaristes interprétants le Flamenco espagnol. Ces schémas sont considérés comme étant typiques pour la musique folklorique qu'ils accompagnent et les combinaisons de ces schémas d'accords représentent la musique espagnole authentique.La première partie est basée sur une danse appelée « Jota », tandis que la deuxième partie, fort contrastante, est basée sur le « Fandango ». La composition est élaborée selon le schéma classique : rapide lent rapide. Deze schema's is men gaandeweg als de typische Spaanse volksmuziek die zij begeleiden gaan beschouwen; zij vormen combinaties die de meesten als authentieke Spaanse muziek definiëren.Het eerste deel is gebaseerd op een typische dans 'Jota' genaamd. Het tweede, sterk contrasterende, deel is op de 'Fandango' gebaseerd. De compositie is opgebouwd volgens het klassieke patroon: snel
langzaam snel. De schitterende partituur bevat heel wat maatwisselingen, typische Spaanse ritmes en veel contrasten wat de klankkleuren betreft. Deze uitstekende versie voor fanfareorkest is van de hand van de Nederlandse specialist Geert Schrijvers.
