John Smith, ein mutiger engli-scher Abenteurer verliebt sich 1607 in Amerika in eines schöne und eigensinnige Indianenmädchen Pocahontas vom Stamm der Powhatan Indianer. Am Ende besiegen Verständnis und Überredungskraft die Vorurteile und den Fanatismus. Hans v/d Heide arrangierte für dieses Medley die schönsten Songs der feenhaften Disneygeschichte. Sie hören 'Steady as the Beating Drum', 'Mine, Mine, Mine', 'A To', 'Colours of the Wind' und 'If I never knew you'.

After the successful soundtracks he had written for the cartoons 'The little Mermaid', 'Aladdin' and 'Beauty and the Beast', Alan Menken was asked by the Walt Disney Studios to write the music for their new cartoon film 'Pocahontas' made by Mike Gabriel and Eric Goldberg.
