Volume 2 of the Cellissimo series contains 25 popular original pieces for cello and piano from the Baroque, Classical and Romantic eras and is a real treasure trove for advanced pupils, students, teachers and cello lovers. The cello literature comprises a lot of major standard works for lessons, concerts and competitions. Apart from classics by Vivaldi, Bréval, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Schumann, Faurè, or Saint-Saëns, the volume also contains several lesser known pieces, e.g. by August Nölck (18621928) and Georg Goltermann (18241898). The pieces are of medium technical difficulty which corresponds to grade 3-4 or grade 5-8 of the international examination system. Some pieces can be played in the 2nd to 7th position, while several works require putting the thumb under. All selected works are particularly suitable for the development of sound, vibrato, differentiated bowing technique, as well as the performer's personal interpretation and musical presentation. Some of the pieces come with a basso part (violoncello 2) which is available for download free of charge. Whereas Volume 1 (ED 22353) of the Cellissimo series is limited to very easy-to-play cello literature, Volume 2, Appassionato, is aimed at advanced pupils, students, teachers, as well as cello lovers who are looking for varied repertoire pieces of medium difficulty. The pieces are ideal for 'Jugend musiziert' or other competitions and examinations.

Le volume 2 de la série « Cellissimo » contient 25 pièces originales populaires pour violoncelle et piano, issues des répertoires baroque, classique et romantique, et constitue une mine d´or pour les élèves d´un niveau avancé, les étudiants, les professeurs et les amoureux du violoncelle. Le répertoire de la littérature pour violoncelle comprend beaucoup d'uvres importantes pour l'enseignement, les concerts et les concours. Outre les classiques de Vivaldi, Bréval, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Schumann, Fauré ou Saint-Saëns, ce recueil contient aussi quelques pièces peu connues, comme par exemple d´August Nölck (18621928) ou Georg Goltermann (18241898). Les exigences techniques sont moyennes et correspondent au niveau de difficulté 3-4 du concours allemand "Jugend musiziert" ou au niveau 5-8 du système international d'examen. Il y a des pièces jouables dans les 2e à 7e positions ainsi que des pièces demandant un jeu dans la position du pouce. Toutes les uvres choisies se prêtent très bien au développement du son, du vibrato et d'une technique de l'archet différenciée, ainsi qu´à l'interprétation musicale et personnelle du musicien.
