Hautvast Johannes Wilhelmus (Willy) geb. in Maastricht, Niederlande, 31. August 1932. Er empfing die musikalische Ausbildung von seinem Vater und am Konservatorium in Maastricht. 1951 bis 1974 wirkte er als Solo-Klarinettist im Königlich-Niederländischen Luftwaffenorchester. Er war Direktionsmitglied, Dirigent und Leiter der Bläserabteilung an der Musikschule in Nijmegen.
