*Andalusia, Alabama, 8. Mai 1944. Er promovierte 1976 an der University of Mississippi zum Doctor of Arts in Music. Seit 1969 unterrichte er an der Auburn University in Alabama, wo er 1985 zum Associate-Dirigenten des Blasorchester sowie der Marching Band bestellt wurde. 1991 erfolgte seine Ernennung zum Professor in der Musikabteilung und zum Dirigenten der Blasorchester der Universität.
