The Andachtsjodler, a devotional yodelling song without words, originated in around 1800 in South Tyrol, and is liturgically associated with the Christmas mass. Since its rediscovery in around 1930, it has become increasingly popular and is regularly sung and chanted by performers and audience at the end of the Salzburg advent service.
Florian Klinger has arranged this vocal work for percussion instruments, gradually transforming the melody into a pulsating groove without abandoning the devotional mood.
The instrumentation includes classical percussion instruments as well as Orff instruments such as alto glockenspiel and includes parts that range from easy to challenging. The minimum instrumentation of five performers can be expanded to nine players.
The bass marimba part can optionally be played on a marimba in A. Both marimba parts can alternatively be played on the piano.
Florian Klinger, born in 1991 in Hollabrunn, is an Austrian percussionist and jazz vibraphonist. He studied classical percussion in Vienna and jazz mallets in New York. He is a percussionist in the Volksoper Wien orchestra, a lecturer, and the founder of the ensemble Louie's Cage Percussion.
Florian Klinger has performed in ensembles of various musical genres and collaborated with prestigious orchestras such as the Vienna State Opera Orchestra, the RSO Wien and the Tonkünstlerorchester Niederösterreich. Additionally, he has worked with acclaimed musicians like Benny Golson, Bob Mintzer, Elina Garanca, Jose Carreras, Jonas Kaufmann, and many others.

L'Andachtsjodler, un chant dévotionnel sans paroles, est né vers 1800 dans le Tyrol du Sud et est liturgiquement associé à la messe de Noël. Depuis sa redécouverte vers 1930, il est devenu de plus en plus populaire et est régulièrement chanté et scandé par les interprètes et le public à la fin de l'office de l'Avent de Salzbourg.
Florian Klinger a arrangé cette uvre vocale pour des instruments à percussion, transformant progressivement la mélodie en un groove palpitant, sans pour autant abandonner l'ambiance dévotionnelle.
L'instrumentation comprend des instruments de percussion classiques ainsi que des instruments Orff tels que le glockenspiel alto et comprend des parties allant du plus facile au plus difficile. L'instrumentation minimale de cinq exécutants peut être étendue à neuf joueurs.

De Andachtsjodler, een devotioneel jodelend lied zonder woorden, ontstond rond 1800 in Zuid-Tirol en wordt liturgisch geassocieerd met de kerstmis. Sinds de herontdekking rond 1930 is het steeds populairder geworden en wordt het regelmatig gezongen en gezongen door artiesten en publiek aan het einde van de Salzburger adventsdienst.
Florian Klinger heeft dit vocale werk gearrangeerd voor percussie-instrumenten, waarbij de melodie geleidelijk verandert in een pulserende groove zonder de devotionele stemming te verlaten.
