Who would have thought that ragtime would enjoy another renaissance! But more than 50 years after the death of its main representative, Scott Joplin, the film 'The Sting' has made this once popular style well-known and fashionable again. This small selection of Joplin rags is of course not complete without 'The Entertainer'. In comparison, 'Easy Winners' and 'Rag-Time Dance' are no less fun to play, particularly since in the latter the performer not only has to play but also stomp his foot. Excellent music providing entertainment for many occasions!

Qui eût cru que le ragtime connaîtrait une telle renaissance ! Plus de cinquante ans après la mort de Scott Joplin qui fut son principal représentant, le film "L'Arnaque" ("The Sting") remettait à la mode ce style musical autrefois si populaire. Dans cette petite sélection de rags de Joplin, "The Enternainer" ne doit certes pas manquer, mais "Easy Winners" et "Rag-Time-Dance" n'en sont pas moins pleins de caractère d'autant plus que, dans ce dernier morceau, le pianiste ne doit pas seulement jouer mais taper vigoureusement du pied. Une excellente musique pour toutes les occasions !
