Alf Prøysen (1914-1970) was one of Norway's premier authors and singer/songwriters of works for children. In addition to many books and recordings for children, he was also a profiled host of radio-programs made for children.
The lyricist Prøysen wrote many songs together with composer Bjarne Amdahl. This song Bolla pinnsvin (Bolla the Hedgehog) is one of these. It was first released on an Alf Prøysen LP record in 1968, and is later recorded by many other Norwegian artists.

Alle mest kjent er han for sine utgivelser som barnebokforfatter, plateartist og en av 1950-tallets profiler innen radio. Sammen med Anne-Cath Vestly sto han bak radioprogrammet «Barnetimen for de minste» i en årrekke.
Prøysen samarbeidet mye med Bjarne Amdahl hvor Amdahl satte musikk til Prøysens tekster.
Bolla pinnsvin er en av deres mange sanger de har skrevet sammen. Den ble første gang utgitt på LP-platen Pirion Alf Prøysen synger for barna i 1968.
