"Solitudo" is a piece I dedicated to my dear friend Margo. Margo has gone through the terrible process of battling cancer, from the initial diagnosis to the arduous struggle that had to be endured both physically and mentally. The composition, written in the style of a chorale, reflects the various moments of doubt, hope, and acceptance that accompany this journey. It is often a lonely path, where one tries to mentally place everything in its rightful place. In this process, it is not only the affected person who suffers under this burden but also many people in their surroundings.
Nevertheless, Margo showed me that even in the darkest moments you must still see the beautiful things in life; the small things that bring joy. This insight deeply moved and inspired me, and thus "Solitudo" was created as an expression of this emotional journey and the unwavering strength that Margo carries within herself.

Les réflexions du compositeur Peter Knockaert sur son uvre :?"Solitudo" est une uvre que j'ai dédiée à mon amie chère Margo. Margo a traversé le terrible processus de la lutte
contre le cancer, depuis le diagnostic initial jusqu'au combat ardu qu'il a fallu endurer à la fois physiquement et mentalement. La composition, écrite dans le style d'un choral, reflète les différents moments de doute, d'espoir et d'acceptation qui accompagnent ce parcours. C'est souvent un chemin solitaire, où l'on essaie de tout placer mentalement à sa juste place. Dans ce processus, ce n'est pas seulement la personne concernée qui souffre de ce fardeau, mais aussi beaucoup de personnes dans son entourage.
Néanmoins, Margo m'a montré que même dans les moments les plus sombres il faut toujours voir les belles choses de la vie; les petites choses qui apportent de la joie. Cette prise de conscience m'a profondément touché et inspiré, et c'est ainsi que "Solitudo" est né, comme une expression de ce parcours émotionnel et de la force inébranlable que Margo porte en elle.

Solitudo" is een werk dat ik heb opgedragen aan mijn lieve vriendin Margo. Margo heeft het vreselijke proces van kanker doorgemaakt, van de diagnose tot de zware strijd die zowel fysiek als mentaal moest worden doorstaan. De compositie, geschreven in de stijl van een koraal, weerspiegelt de verschillende momenten van twijfel, hoop en acceptatie die dit proces begeleiden. Het is vaak een eenzame weg, waarin je probeert alles mentaal op de juiste plaats te zetten. In dit proces is het niet alleen de zieke zelf die onder deze last lijdt, maar ook veel mensen in hun omgeving.
Toch heeft Margo me laten zien dat je zelfs in de donkerste momenten de mooie dingen in het leven moet blijven zien; de kleine dingen die vreugde brengen. Dit inzicht heeft me diep geraakt en geïnspireerd, en zo is "Solitudo" ontstaan, als uitdrukking van deze emotionele reis en de onwankelbare kracht die Margo in zich draagt.
