Ouverture: Aiolos - God of the Wind Peter Knockaert

Diese Ouvertüre wurde ursprünglich als Eröffnungsstück für die Wind-Symphonie konzipiert, welche aus vier Teilen besteht und die vier antiken Gottheiten der Himmelsrichtungen repräsentiert. In der griechischen Mythologie war Aiolos der Hüter der Winde und der König der mythischen Insel Aiolia. Er kontrollierte den Nordwind (Boreas), den Westwind (Zephyros), den Ostwind (Euros) und den Südwind (Notos). Aiolos, der Sohn des Meeresgottes Poseidon, war für seine Macht über die Winde und seine Fähigkeit, Stürme zu erzeugen, bekannt. Diese Komposition eignet sich perfekt als Eröffnung für jedes Konzert.

This Ouverture was originally created as the opening piece for The Wind Symphony, which has four parts representing the four ancient Gods of the cardinal points. In Greek mythology, Aiolos was the keeper of the Winds and the King of the mythical island of Aiolia. He controlled the North wind (Boreas), the West wind (Zephyros), the East wind (Euros), and the South wind (Notos). Aiolos, the son of the God of the Sea, Poseidon, was known for his power over the Winds and his ability to create storms.
This composition is perfect as the opening for any concert.

Cette ouverture a été initialement conçue comme la pièce d'ouverture de la Wind Symphony, composée de quatre parties évoquant les quatre personnages des quatre anciens dieux des points cardinaux. Dans la mythologie grecque, Éole était le gardien divin des vents et aussi le roi de l'île flottante mythique d'Aiolia. Il gardait les vents (Borée, le vent du nord / Zéphyr, le vent d'ouest / Euros, le vent d'est et Notos, le vent du sud) enfermés en toute sécurité à l'intérieur de sa île, ne les libérant que sur ordre des plus grands dieux pour semer la dévastation dans le monde. Éole était le fils du Dieu de la Mer, Poséidon, et était connu pour son grand pouvoir sur les vents et sa capacité à créer des tempêtes.
Cette composition convient parfaitement pour l'ouverture de tout programme de concert.

Deze ouverture is oorspronkelijk bedacht als openingsstuk van de Wind Symphony, die bestaat uit 4 delen die de 4 verschillende karakters van de 4 oude goden van de windrichtingen oproepen. In de Griekse mythologie was Aiolos de goddelijke bewaker van de winden en ook koning van het mythische, drijvende eiland Aiolia. Hij hield de winden (Boreas, de noordenwind / Zephyros, de westenwind / Euros, de oostenwind en Notos, de zuidenwind) veilig opgesloten in het grotachtige interieur van zijn eiland, en liet ze alleen los op bevel van de grootste goden om verwoesting over de wereld te brengen. Aiolos was een zoon van de god van de zee, Poseidon, en stond bekend om zijn grote macht over de winden en zijn vermogen om stormen te creëren.
Deze compositie is perfect geschikt als opening van elk concertprogramma.
