Bar by bar, a pulse and a melody emerge from the sound surface, according to Pythagoras' theory that the rotating spheres create a heavenly music. The structure ends in a brilliant allegro, which symbolises that the spheres, although each one is independent, form a unity in the entire universe. The work was dedicated by the Jugendmusik Ostermundigen to the company Ziswiler Recycling AG as a thank you for their extremely generous financial support.
