On 26 August 2005, the well-known French composer and musician Jean Michel Jarre performed a concert called 'Space of Freedom' in Danzig to mark the 25th anniversary of Solidarnosc. The concert was attended by more than 100,000 people, broadcast by numerous radio stations and recorded live on CD and DVD. Under the title 'Around Mury', Jarre performed the song 'L'Estaca' (The Stake) by the Catalan musician Lluis Llach in a text version by Jacek Kaczmarski. This song was a kind of resistance song during the period of Franco's dictatorship and has turned into a song of freedom which enjoys great popularity, especially in Eastern Europe.
