This march-like overture was written in 2004 for a military music festival in Finland, and has become a national favorite there. The Lion is a symbol of Finland, and the soaring melodies throughout capture the majesty and power of this regal beast. Every section of the band gets a technical workout within the tightly knit structure of this most impressive original work.
