In 1977 Kander/Ebb wrote songs for the movie New York New York. Robert De Niro decided that the theme song they first wrote: "had to be stronger.... and would you mind trying again?"
"I think we wrote it in very short time and great anger" Kander later admits, but today this melody is more known than the film. This flexible arrangements has nice challenge for all parts.
