Henry Purcell wrote several works in honour of Saint Cecilia, patron saint of church music. The best known of these works probably is Hail! Bright Cecilia (1692) the solo part of which was performed by Purcell himself at the world premiere. Welcome to all the pleasures was composed in 1683 on a text by Christopher Fishburn. The work is now published as piano reduction of the score published by Eulenburg (ETP 1062). Orchestral parts are available at Breitkopf & Härtel.

Henry Purcell a composé plusieurs uvres en hommage à Sainte Cécile, sainte patronne de la musique d'église. La plus connue d'entre elle est certainement le Hail ! Bright Cecilia (« Hymne à Sainte-Cécile ») de 1692, dont Purcell chanta lui-même la partie de soliste lors de la création. Welcome to all pleasures (« Bienvenus soient tous les plaisirs ! ») fut composé en 1683 sur un texte de Christopher Fishburn. Cette uvre est maintenant éditée dans une réalisation pour piano et chant, d'après la partition d'orchestre éditée chez Eulenburg (ETP 1062).
