Fasziniert von der Idee, es könne eine allwissende Hexe geben, schrieb Partch diese zehn Szenen für eine Sängerin und Ensemble. Dabei sind die Musiker und ihre Bewegungen Teil der Handlung, in der die Menschen durch eine Hexe von verschiedenen Problemen befreit werden. Die meisten der benötigten Instrumente sowie das verwendete Tonsystem wurden von Partch selbst entwickelt.

Fasciné par l'idée qu'il puisse exister une sorcière omnisciente, Partch a composé ces dix scènes pour chanteuse et ensemble. Les musiciens et leurs mouvements font partie de l'intrigue, dans laquelle les hommes sont délivrés de différents problèmes par une sorcière. La plupart des instruments utilisés ainsi que le système sonore ont été développés par Partch.
