is an aria from the opera Rinaldo by George Frideric Handel.
It was the first opera he wrote during his London period and was a great success in 1711, not least because the lead was sung by one of the most famous castrati of the era, Nicolo Grimaldi. Today it is most often performed by counter-tenors or mezzo-sopranos. It's been used in many films, such as Farinelli and Lars von Trier's Antichrist.

Det var den første operaen Händel skrev under sitt lange opphold i London og ble en stor suksess i 1711. Suksessen skyldtes ikke minst at hovedrollen ble sunget av en av datidens ledende kastrater, Nicolo Grimaldi. I dag blir arien oftest sunget av kontratenorer og mezzosopraner. Den er brukt i mange filmer, blant annet i Farinelli og Lars von Triers Antichrist.
