Fauré initially wrote the Sicilienne as indicental music to Molière's 'Bourgeois gentilhomme' for small-scale string orchestra. In 1898 he wrote an arrangement for violoncello and piano which enjoys great popularity and belongs to the standard Romantic cello repertoire. Our new edition contains fingerings and bowing marks by Maria Kliegel.
Fauré écrivit à l'origine la Sicilienne pour petit orchestre à cordes comme musique de scène pour le "Bourgeois gentilhomme" de Molière. En 1898, il en fit une transcription pour violoncelle qui fait partie du grand répertoire de la littérature romantique. Doigtés et coups d'archet de Maria Kliegel.

Faurè scrisse la Sicilienne come musica per il "'Bourgeois gentilhomme' di Moliere per piccola orchestra d'archi. Nel 1898 scrisse poi l'arrangiamento per cello e piano che divenne subito famoso nel repertorio Romantico di questo strumento. La nostra nuova edizione contiene diteggiature e note per l'archetto di Maria Kliegel. Fauré schrieb das Sicilienne ursprünglich als Bühnenmusik zu "Bourgeois gentilhomme" von Molière für kleines Streichorchester. 1898 schrieb er eine Bearbeitung für Violoncello und Klavier, die sich großer Beliebtheit erfreut und zum Standardrepertoire der romantischen Celloliteratur gehört. Unsere Neuausgabe enthält Fingerstätze und Strichbezeichnungen von Maria Kliegel.
