Opening - Konzertmarsch Ernst Hoffmann

The idea for this spirited concert march came to Ernst Hoffmann quite spontaneously. Amid the abundance of existing marches, he aimed to compose a special, modern march as an opening piece hence the English title Opening.
The trombone theme at the beginning of the march serves as a ceremonial, fanfare-like announcement. It reappears several times, initially taken up by the trumpets before resounding through the entire orchestra. The second part of the march has a lighter character, marked by more delicate textures. The trio introduces a beautiful, lyrical melody that provides a soft contrast to the energetic fanfares of the opening, before the piece concludes in a festive Grandioso.

Opening by Ernst Hoffmann is a high-energy opening piece, full of anticipation for a wonderful concert.
