The Little Shepherd is the fifth of the six pieces in the suite of children's scenes that Debussy dedicated to his daughter Claude-Emmy. The suite was published by Durand at the end of September 1908, shortly before the little girl's 3rd birthday. This critical edition of The Little Shepherd is an excerpt from the complete works of Claude Debussy, Series I, Volume 2, edited by R. Howat.
