Children of Sanchez is written by the American flugelhorn player Chuck Mangione to the movie also entitled Children of Sanchez.
Mangione (born 1940) is a very successful musician and compser, appearing both with his own bands and as sideman like a member of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers.

This arrangement is very useful both for parade- and concert situations. When performed in concert, the conductor may left out some of the players for the softer dynamics.
The bass line on the verses can be simplified by playing only the first four notes in the bar. If the players do not master double-tounge, or that the 16th note passages are too fast, one can play only the marked notes (see bar number 5).

Dette arrangementet er skrevet tykt slik at men kan bruke det både til marsjering og konsert. Ved konsertbruk kan man med hell tynne ut i stemmene der det er svakere styrkegrader. Basslinjen på f.eks verset kan forenkles ved å kun spille de første 4 tonene i takten. Dersom man ikke behersker dobbeltunge, eller at 16-dels passasjene blir for raske å spille kan man være med på kun markeringene (se takt 5).
