Weber's music for Preciosa can be regarded as an exceptional work in two respects: on the one hand, it stands out from Weber's further music output for the dramatic theatre as far as extent and quality are concerned, on the other hand, it holds a special position within the 19th century incidental music tradition as far as the history of composition and criticism is concerned. In addition to the score (WGA 1039-10) the piano reduction is now available as well. It also puts the pieces of music in the context of Wolff's play, i.e. embedded in dialogues. Score and piano reduction can be combined; the parts are available as hire material.
