Shortly after the war, Schoenberg composed in his 99-bar monumental work depicting the suffering and oppression of an entire people. The story written by the composer himself describes the terror of the Nazi regime by example of a typical scene in the Warsaw Ghetto. In the concluding part of the men's choir, Schoenberg draws on the Jewish Creed in a depressing manner. The close connection of the music with the text makes this work an important post-war composition which is now also available as study score.

Peu après la guerre, Schoenberg composa son uvre monumental de 99 mesures illustrant la souffrance et l'oppression d'un peuple entier. Le récit écrit par le compositeur lui-même décrit la terreur du régime nazi à l'aide d'un scénario typique du ghetto de Varsovie. Dans la partie conclusive du chur d'hommes, Schoenberg recourt au Credo juif d'une manière oppressante. A cause de la référence étroite de la musique au texte, l'uvre est une composition d'après-guerre importante qui est maintenant aussi disponible comme partition d'étude.
