"RUF VOM SIMILAUN - Fanfare für den Mann aus dem Eis" wurde für das Jubiläum 20 Jahre Fund der Gletschermumie "Ã"tzi" geschrieben. Das Werk wird mit einer markanten Fanfare eröffnet. Daraufhin folgt das Hauptthema, in ruhigem Charakter vom Holz vorgetragen. Danach folgt ein lebhafter Zwischenteil in etwas schnellerem Tempo. Um den alpinen Charakter des Schnalstals und des Similauns Ausdruck zu verleihen, tritt hier ein weisenähnliches Thema auf, das von Flügelhörnern und Hörnern vorgetragen wird. Nach neuerlichem Erklingen der Anfangsfanfare geht das Werk in den Schlussteil über, in dem das Hauptthema dieses Mal kraftvoll und strahlend vorgetragen wird.

CALL FROM SIMILAUN - Fanfare for the MAN COMING OUT OF THE ICE was composed for the 20th anniversary of the discovery of the glacier mummy Ã"TZI. The piece opens with a striking fanfare. The main theme follows which is a slow section played by woodwind. A lively middle section in a quicker tempo succeeds this section. A theme in the style of a folk song played by the flugel and horns comes next in order to express the alpine character of the Schnals Valley and the Similaun. After a repeat of the introductory fanfare the piece culminates in the end section where the main theme is now heard in a more powerful and brilliant manner.
