"Trassvisa" er et dikt om forbudt kjærlighet, og den er kanskje en av hans aller såreste tekster. Diktet ble tonesatt på en fabelaktig måte av Egil Monn-Iversen etter Prøysens død, og det er derfor først i de senere år at den har blitt en moderne klassiker som mange har blitt svært glad i.
