Besides popular and well-known sonatas by Corelli, Vivaldi, Handel and Telemann there are also delightful less familiar compositions by Dall'Abaco, Pepusch and Finger, among others. All these pieces are at lower to intermediate level. Some of them can be played in first position throughout, while others require just a few position changes, but the sonatas by Dall'Abaco, Kirchhoff, Vivaldi and Handel require fluent use of the first three positions. The pieces brought together in this book are the best-loved works from the popular series Schott Violin Library (VLB) and other violin repertoire published by Schott.

Le recueil Schott Violin-Bibliothek contient onze sonates variées la période baroque pour violon et basse continue. À côté de sonates célèbres de Corelli, Vivaldi, Haendel et Telemann s'ajoutent de très charmantes compositions moins connues, comme p. ex. de Dall'Abaco, Pepusch ou Finger. Toutes les uvres sont de facile à moyenne difficulté. Certaines d'entre elles peuvent se jouer seulement en 1re position, d'autres demandent uniquement quelques changements de position. Les sonates de Dall'Abaco, Kirchhoff, Vivaldi et Haendel exigent en revanche de maîtriser couramment les trois premières positions. Les compositions de ce recueil représentent les uvres favorites de la série à succès Violin-Bibliothek (VLB) et du répertoire de Schott.
