Geburtsdatum: 22.06.1957

Richard Meyer schloß sein Studium an der California State University, Los Angeles, als B.A. ab und war über 16 Jahre als Lehrer für Instrumentalmusik an Middle- und High Schools tätig. Zur Zeit ist er Dirigent des Pasadena Youth Symphony Orchestra. Meyer hat zahlreiche Werke für Band und Orchester veröffentlicht, darunter Celebration, das den Kompositionswettbewerb der National Scholl Orchestra Association gewann, und Geometric Dances, das den Kompositionswettbewerb der Texas Orchestra Directors gewann. Der Pasadena Area Youth Music Council verlieh Meyer 1994 den "Outstanding Music Educator Award", und in diesem Jahr (1998) erhilt er den "Gold Crown Award for Performing Arts" vom Pasadena Arts Council. Meyer ist seit kurzem als Lektor für Streichermusik bei Alfred Publishing tätig.
