Dit concertino is een muzikaal portret van Fernando Marinho. Aan de ene kant is hij energiek en wil altijd meer maar aan de andere kant is hij erg romantisch. Een prachtige solo voor piccolo en harmonieorkest.

Concertino for Piccolo and Band is a work commissioned by and dedicated to Fernando Marinho. Attempts to portrait musically a little of what Fernando is… Energetic, always willing to do more and on the other hand, romantic and nostalgic. The Concertino starts with energetic and jolly themes. Recall the Iberian heritage, through the sorrow of romantic, beauty and nostalgia of the intangible. And ending again energetic and bright. This is Pascoals way of honoring this great friend and Portuguese musician.

Ce concertino est écrit à la commande de Fernando Marinho et lui est dédié. Un essai de capturer un peu de ce qu’est Fernado dans un portrait musical… énergique, toujours prêt à faire plus et à vouloir plus, et d’un autre côté romantique et nostalgique. Avec des thèmes énergiques et joyeux, rappelant son patrimoine Espagnol, à travers la douleur de la romantique, la beauté et la nostalgie de l’impalpable, et en finissant de nouveau en énergie et gaieté. Ceci est ma façon de honorer ce grand ami et musicien Portugais.
