'Toward a new Life' (Josef Suk) entstand 1919 als patriotischer Marsch gewidmet an die junge tschechoslowakische Armee. Im gleichen Jahr nahm er das Werk für einen Kompositionswettbewerb, wo dieser Marsch zum Sieger gewählt wurde. Suks festlicher Marsch bekam 1932 als gewinnender Marsch weitere Anerkennung während der Olympischen Spiel in Los Angeles. Während des Zweiten Weltkrieges war dies das Eröffnungslied des Radiosenders, der sich nach England abgesetzten tschechischen Regierung. Ein wirklich wunderschönes Eröffnungswerk für Harmonie oder Fanfare, sehr fachkundig arrangiert von Ton van Grevenbroek.
