In Frankreich gibt es seit Jahrhunderten eine reiche Weihnachtsliedertradition. So ein unsterbliches Weihnachtslied ist bestimmt 'Cantique de Noël', vielleicht noch besser bekannt als 'Minuit Chrétien' vom Operkomponisten Adolphe Adam (1803-1856) komponiert und auf gekonnter Weise von Willy Hautvast für sinfonisches Blasorchester und gemischten Chor arrangiert.
