Smile was heard for the first time in the movie Modern Times from 1936 starring Charlie Chaplin as main actor.
Chaplin himself wrote the music while Geoffrey Parsons and John Turner wrote the lyrics for Nat King Cole and his premiere recording of the song in 1954. This recording is among his most successful. After that, Smile are recorded and performed a numerous times.
This arrangement can be performed with vocal soloist, Altosax soloist or F-horn Soloist.

[NO]Smile ble første gang brukt instrumentalt i filmen Modern Times fra 1936 med Charlie Chaplin I hovedrollen. Chaplin skrev selv melodien, mens Geoffrey Parsons og John Turner i etterkant skrev teksten i 1954 for Nat King Coles innspilling samme år. King Coles innspilling er en av hans aller største hit gjennom tidene.
I etterkant av filmen og Nat King Coles første innspilling har en rekke sangere og instrumentalister spilt den inn.
