Mark Custom Recording Service, was founded in 1962 by Vincent S. Morette. Originally a satellite of Century Custom Recordings, "Mark" soon differentiated itself from the other recording companies with their superior quality, customer service and attention to detail.

In its years of recording, Mark Recording has had the honor of working with such musical icons as the Goo Goo Dolls, Rick James, Spyro Gyra, Roy Clark, Dizzy Gillespie, Dr. Billy Taylor, John Faddis, Phil Woods, Clark Terry, Marcel, Winton, and Brandon Marsalis, 10,000 Maniacs, Richie Havens, Ginger Baker, Denny Laine The Misfits, Amherst Saxophone Quartet, Kurt Vonequet, Geoffrey Guiliano, Chicago Symphony, Houston Opera, Baltimore Symphony, Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, The United States Air Force Band, "The Presidents Own" United States Marine Band, The United States Navy Band, "Pershings Own" United States Army Band, United States Coast Guard Band and countless others.

Mark Recording has been showered with awards and honors in our history. This includes: Sixty (60) Grammy Entry List appearances, and 2 Grammy Nominations. Mostly for Best Classical Recording, Best Classical Album and Best Classical Performance, with our two Grammy Nominations coming in the Jazz field with the Ashley Alexander Big Band and the Eastman Jazz Ensemble. We have received numerous awards for Downbeat Magazine’s outstanding Jazz Recordings.

In 2001, Mark Recording was awarded the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra’s award for “Outstanding service to the music industry”. Most recently, during the summer of 2004, Mark J. Morette was awarded the International Percy Grainger Society’s “Grainger Medallion”, for lifetime service for the promotion of the music of Percy Grainger.

The "Mark Family" of audio services include: Mark Custom Recording Service (our 2 to 32 track digital location recording service), Mark Studios (our 24 track analog and 32 track digital studios), Mark Digital Editing, MarkArt (custom artwork design), Mark Audio Equipment Sales (specializing in high end professional recording equipment sales and installation), Mark Custom Manufacturing for the pressing of your groups CD's, Mark Records (our record label) and our newest family member, the Mark Masters Series our commercial record label featuring the finest in the Wind Band field and other "classical" music.

The goal of "Mark" is to offer the finest recording services, with reasonable prices, outstanding customer service and unbeatable quality. The Mark Family of audio services is jointly owned by Cecelia M. Morette and Mark J. Morette, their son and namesake of the company. They have been running the company since the passing of Vincent in 1989.
