George Thom Ritter geb. in Detroit, Michigan, 23. Juni 1942. George absolvierte die Eastman School of Music 1968 mit der Graduierung zum Master of Music im Hauptfach Komposition. 1970 promovierte er an der Catholic University of America zum Dr. of Musical Arts. 1966 bis 1970 arbeitete George als Komponist und Arrangeur für die US Navy Band in Washington, seit 1970 ist er Dirigent des Quincy Symphony Orchestra.
