Samuel Hollomon Komponist
Samuel Hollomon was born on Thanksgiving Day, 1958, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. His musical interests stem from his earliest days listening to the classical music coming from his father's stereo. He began composing in high school in Cleveland, Mississippi. He also attended college there and earned a Bachelor's and Master's degree in music at Delta State University. Mr. Hollomon has done graduate study in composition at Louisiana State University and the University of Southern Mississippi. He has a wide variety of experience in music. He has taught aural theory, harmony and composition; as well as being a band director and choral music director. His works for wind band span in scope from Grade I compositions to professional level symphonies and concertos and have been performed by such distinguished organizations as the Eastman Wind Ensemble under the direction of Donald Hunsberger.Mr. Hollomon currently resides in Las Cruces, New Mexico where he works as a church music director, teaches at a local music studio, and is affiliated with the music department of New Mexico State University.
