WILLIAM H. MYDDLETON (1873-1950) war ein englischer Komponist, Dirigent, Schriftsteller und Amateurastronom der bei dem berühmten Pablo Sarasate Geige studierte und später als Geiger viele Konzertreise machte. Er dirigierte ein Theaterorchester in Sydney, Australien und das Carl Rosa Opera Orchester in London. Er komponierte auch Militärmusik und verwendete dabei das Pseudonym Arnold Safroni: sein bekanntestes Stück im diesem Bereich war der Marsch 'Imperial Echoes'. Er schrieb viel Unterhaltungsmusik für Salonorchester, Brassband und Blasorchester wie 'Down South' und The Phantom Brigade, den Britischen Soldaten zu Ehren, das während des Ersten Weltkrieges komponiert wurde.
