Léo Delibes Oper Lakmé wurde 1883, im Jahr nach Wagners Parsifal, uraufgeführt, kommt aber aus einer ganz anderen Welt. Das Blumenduett ist definitiv der bekannteste Teil aus der Oper und wird auch heute noch in Filmen und Werbespots eingesetzt.

Léo Delibes opera Lakmé was first performed in 1883, the year after Wagner's Parsifal, but it comes from an entirely different world. It is a thoroughly conservative opera, constructed from separate numbers (including ballets) that are supported by an orchestra that rarely strays from the role of accompanist. The Flower Duet is definitely the most well-known part from the opera and even nowadays used in movies and commercials as well.
